Ouray
by Jeremy
As busy as Annie and I have been with our new project (we bought a house recently, and yes, are very behind in blogging about it), it was nice to just leave it all behind two weeks ago and get back into the mountains. We drove to Ouray, CO to meet my parents for a weekend of jeeping. They bought a Jeep this last year and have been eager to get to the San Juans to try it out. Having already spent the week driving above treeline, they were a bit tired of jostling around on the rocks. So we took some a leisurely drives in the Suburban amidst the fall colors, one to Silverton via the Million Dollar Highway and another to Telluride via Last Dollar Road. We drove up Yankee Boy Basin to the base of Mt Sneffels for our one off-road adventure together, and also visited Box Canyon falls. We stayed at a great place on the river in Ouray and enjoyed some eating and shopping together. After parting with the padres on Sunday Annie and I took a scenic drive through Pitkin, Cumberland Pass, Tincup, Tincup Pass, and St Elmo on our way to greasy corndogs at the park in Buena Vista. It was great to see mom and dad on a grand Colorado tour!

It was great to get to see you and Annie, too. We like the pictures, especially the one looking up into the aspens. We had wanted to do one just like it. We will have to try some more of the passes next year since I suppose most of them are closed now because of the snow. Hear it is a little chilly in Denver. Maybe we will get to our Colorado trip blog this week.
Jeremy, thanks so much for going over and seeing Kyle and Erica. I know her days get long although Kyle’s parents are ther to lend her support.Thank so much for doing this for me. Love to you and Annie Dayle Anita
