Our first dinner guests

On Saturday night Annie and I had the pleasure of hosting our friends from Castle Rock for dinner, Mike and Whizzy Heritage and their son Mo. We say that they are first dinner guests, at which point they are quick to clarify that they are our only friends in Denver… true! Annie made a great meal of pork ribs, salad, and mashed potatoes, as well as amaretto ice-cream with rose petals. I made strawberry-mango-pineapple smoothies for post-dessert dessert.
Earlier last week, Whizzy brought by an amazing basket full of “Welcome to Denver” items, like lotion for dry skin, sunscreen, climbing and flora guidebooks, and local restaurant and entertainment guides. Plus all the information we need to get our driver’s licenses and vehicle registration, and a plant for Annie! Thanks Whizzy!

How come we just got pasta and pizza? I didn’t see any pork ribs and especially any amaretto ice cream and rose petals. What’s the deal?? How did the first day at work go?
